Children’s Services is part of NHS Lothian and describes the different departments and services that care for children and young people from birth, up to around their 18th birthday. NHS Lothian covers the City of Edinburgh, East Lothian, West Lothian and Midlothian. Some of our specialisms are national services meaning that patients and families can travel from across Scotland or other parts of the UK to get the specialist care that they need.
LGBT Charter
NHS Lothian Children’s Services is on a journey to achieve foundation status in LGBT Youth Scotland's Charter award scheme. This scheme recognises organisations that have taken significant steps to be as inclusive as they can be, through training for staff, engagement with people who use their services and resources to support signposting and awareness.
Throughout Children’s Services and at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People we aim to be an inclusive and welcoming environment for all LGBT+ young people, family members, visitors and staff.
