When you’re well enough to go home, you will be discharged from the ward. Sometimes you might have medication to take home with you, or an appointment to come back for a check-up in a couple of weeks. You and your parent or adult will talk to the doctors and nurses before you go home to check that you have all the information you need. If you need any special help to get better at home, you might have a visit from one of our Therapies & Support team to make sure you can recover safely at home, or get back to school. For example, Occupational Therapists can help you get used to doing everyday things again, like getting dressed or doing your schoolwork. Physiotherapists might help you feel stronger, improve your balance or move your body.
